Orange County Breweries

Anaheim,CA. is one of the fastest-growing beer destinations in the state, with 15 breweries and counting. Three of the city’s notable offerings are the Anaheim Brewery (closed during Prohibition but re-established in 2010 after a 90-year hiatus) and, on each side of the Santa Ana River, less than two miles away from each other, Noble Ale Works and the Old Orange Brewing Company. Plus many delicious others, worthy of trying out.

About: Golden Road’s year-round offerings include Wolf Pup Session IPA and Mango Cart, as well as small batch releases of experimental beers combining old world brewing standards with California lifestyle inspired innovation and ingredients. The location is across from Angel Stadium and includes California pub fare, local beer from over 30 taps and a large outdoor space. Dogs are allowed in outdoor spaces and there is plenty of room for large groups.

About: Located at Downtown Disney District, the brewery and kitchen features award-winning beers (porters, amber ales, IPAs and more) fresh from the tap. There is a tasting room, indoor dining, and a rooftop patio complete with an outdoor bar and lounge area.

About: Widely considered to be San Diego’s first microbrewery, Karl Strauss (real person and master brewer) made its debut in 1989. The Anaheim brewpub layout features an outdoor patio, tasting room-like bar area with 24 taps for guests to enjoy an ever-changing list of rotating beers. With reclaimed wood and exposed brick, the space has an industrial feel that includes garage doors which open to a large outdoor patio overlooking Angel Stadium. Brewery tours are also available where are Certified Beer server will walk you through the various stages of the brewing process and the brewery’s equipment.

About: Located in between Angels Stadium and the Honda Center, JT Schmid’s is a great spot to go before or after a game. JT Schmid’s has their own handcrafted brews along with several local craft beers. Handcrafted brews include IPAs, Stouts, Amber Ales, Honey Ales, Hefeweizens and much more. There are plenty of food options from tacos and French dips to fresh salads, grilled burgers, seafood, steaks and ribs.

About: Right down the street from Anaheim Stadium, BSB is a small brewery hidden in an industrial area. The rotation includes mainstay beers, plus new innovative or interesting beers that circulate with the season or occasion. There are high tables and bar stools inside plus outdoor seating. They don’t serve food but there are food trucks and even pop-up kitchens on a rotating schedule. Trivia night, cornhole and other games and tournaments are regular events.
